Biography:
Hello! My name is Laura Obenhaus, and I am thrilled to be a Skaggs Star! This is my fifth year teaching in Plano ISD and my eleventh year in education overall. I grew up in Carrollton, Texas, and earned my degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Texas.
Teaching is truly my passion, and helping children learn, grow, and gain confidence brings me so much joy. I strive to support not only my students’ academic success but also their social-emotional development. My goal is to create a positive, engaging classroom environment where students feel valued, challenged, and inspired to become lifelong learners.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have a dog named Twyla who loves joining me on outdoor adventures. Some of my favorite hobbies include bike riding, antique shopping, reading, watching movies, and trying new restaurants.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your child’s educational journey. I look forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and memorable experiences together!

Biography:
My name is Joann Lee, and I have been teaching at Skaggs Elementary since 2026. I grew up in Irving, TX and graduated from UNT with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have always had a passion for children and teaching. My childhood dream job was to become a teacher!
I have an adorable dog named Mochi. I collect Pokemon cards and piggy banks. My hobbies include watching anime and hanging out with friends.
My goal is to create a loving and safe environment for all of my students. I look forward to working with everyone!
